Scot was a competitive gymnast from 1976-1980 before becoming a college cheerleader at East Carolina University where he was the team captain all four years. After obtaining a BS in computer science, Scot became the head coach for North Raleigh Gymnastics. Scot then worked at Tumblebees Gymnastics in Miami, The Boys and Girls club in Miami, then the American Twisters in Pompano Beach, and Marvateens Gymnastics in Maryland before coming to Pensacola to work at Five Flags Gymnastics. In 1995, Scot opened the Flip Factory, home of the 2007 International Coed Junior World Champions!

Mauri Harrison

All-Star Account Specialist

Mauri Harrison was a competitive fastpitch softball pitcher starting at the age of 8. She played varsity softball her freshman through senior years at Naaman Forest High School in Garland, TX. She was selected for 2nd team all district her freshman year and 1st Team All District sophomore, junior, and senior year She was also selected twice as the Who’s Who Among American Athletes. While majoring in Hospitality, Recreation, and Resort Management at University of West Florida she played NCAA Division II Softball for the Argonauts from 2000-2003. Mauri has worked at the Flip Factory since 2003 as a recreational instructor and program manager since her promotion to Office Manager/Account Specialist. She is an integral and dedicated part of the success and daily management of the Flip Factory organization.

Nolan Wahl

All-Star Cheer Director

 

 Nolan Wahl cheered competitively for 8 years. Being from a military family, he has gained coaching experience all over the country. Nolan shares the teaching philosophy his father instilled in him, “There is a difference between being mean and stern. Being mean can take away motivation, being stern can build character.” He went to Terry Sanford HS in Fayetteville, NC where he was captain of his cheer squad from 2003-2004.  Nolan started working for cheerleading camps when he was 15 and was a head instructor at the age of 17 for Champion Cheer & Dance. Currently he is a Competition Coordinator for Champion Cup Nationals. While he worked in the capacity of head instructor at Colorado Elite, the All-Star level teams 2-4 placed 1st at Cheersport Nationals and Jamfest Nationals in 2008. They are considered “Coast to Coast National Champs.” Nolan has competed on the elite level 6 cheering for North Carolina’s Impact All-Stars from 2004-2005. He attended UNC Greensboro, acting as captain from 2005-2007, where he competed at the NCA College Nationals. He is currently pursuing a degree in Deaf Interpretation.  Nolan has a passion for working with special needs individuals. He has choreographed many competitive All-Star teams, high schools, and colleges throughout the United States.  Nolan’s patient nature and broad teaching experiences will benefit every athlete at the Flip Factory.

Ryan Whitworth

All-Star Cheer Instructor

 

Ryan has been a competitive cheerleader for ten years. He cheered at the varsity level for three years at Pine Forest High School, and captained his senior year.  Ryan competed with the Flip Factory Senior Level 5 team for two years.  He is currently attending Pensacola Junior College and pursuing a career in health care.  He is actively seeking placement in the PJC nursing program. Ryan was a member of the 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 PJC Pirate Cheerleading squad. He played baseball for 11 years and was selected for the all -star team each season.  In addition to baseball and cheerleading, he also played soccer for 7 years.  He received the highest placement score in his group at the Cheer Limited National Cheer Judges Certification exam. Ryan graduated high school with top honors and was in the top 5th percentile of his class.  He also received a full paid scholarship for academics in the state of Florida.  Ryan is an UCA All-Star, and is also a CTC All American Cheerleader.  He was also a part of the Cheerleading Technique Camps Staff where he traveled throughout the United States choreographing cheer routines, and instructing basic cheer camps. He is now instructing with NCA (National Cheerleading Association).  Ryan has helped lead our Flip Factory teams to win regional, state, and national titles.  He is capable of instructing USASF tumbling skills and techniques ranging from levels 1 to 5.  His talent, abilities, and enthusiasm contribute to the growth of The Flip Factory’s dynamic cheerleading program.

Rob Fredette

Recreational Tumbling Instructor

 Rob began club wrestling at the age of four. He wrestled competitively for seven years and won the state championships in Greco-Roman. In high school Rob also played football and ran track. He later joined the United States Air Force and became a S.E.R.E instructor. After the USAF Rob went to college in New York at Oswego. In college Rob was recruited from wrestling into division I rugby. Rob is a New York state Collegiate Rugby Champion, all-star team, and National Northeast Collegiate All-Star Team Caption. During college Rob was an uneven bar spotter and the head conditioning coach at North Country Gymnastics. He has also coached at Yury’s, Ito’s and Gulf Coast Gymnastics from recreational to team gymnastics as well as cheerleading. Rob’s education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Technology Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching. Rob has also received a Master’s Degree in Science and Education.
